Our Vision and our Purpose
There is a lot of discussion and thought today about God and spirituality, but we specifically honour Jesus Christ as Lord and God. Not a general, generic type of a distant God, but God as revealed to us in the Bible as Jesus Christ.
(And Thomas answered and said to Jesus, My Lord and my God. John 20:28)
Building strong relationships is vitally important, as relationships bring meaning, well being, vitality, love and encouragement to our lives; whether the relationship be between you and Christ, you and family, you and friends or between you or other believers.
(My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. 1 John 4:7)
God treats us with graciousness! His goodness, kindness, love and mercy overflow into our lives every day.
We are saved by grace, and we are to live by grace. Therefore kindness, love and mercy should flow from our lives.
(“My grace is all you need….” 2 Corinthians 12:9)
Open to change!
Change happens all around us, every day of our lives, so it’s important to be open to change. Even Christ desires us to change!
(And the Lord…makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. 2 Corinthians 3:18)
the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God. 2 Tim. 3:16.
there is one God, the Creator, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. 2 Cor. 13:14.
in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in his miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years. Matt. 16:16, 1 Cor. 15:3,4.
in the blessed hope, which is the rapture of the Church at Christ’s coming. Titus 2:13.
regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. John 3:3-5.
the redemptive work of Christ provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer. 1 Pet.2:24.
in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. Gal. 5:16.
